JK Rowling won her legal case concerning the Harry Potter Lexicon.
We brought you extensive insight into the trial and laws surrounding the issue a while back. The Associated Press later printed and distributed an article which repeated everything I said, line by line, and added no original insight or research to what I had done, but did not credit me nor cite my original article as a reference.
The judge said that though he agreed in this case, it should not be used as a precedent for others, noting, "reference works that share the Lexicon's purpose of aiding readers of literature generally should be encouraged rather than stifled."
