Things actually look good enough that I may very well have to file taxes for writing this year! I'm not 100% positive, but I think you have to make something like $2000-2500+ for it to be considered an "income source" or whatever. I'm not sure, but I have to find out, because I'm going to break the $2500 mark by the summer, God willing!
The cool thing is that, if this is the case, I can write-off a buttload (that's a technical tax term) of expenses, including my computer accessories, magazine subscriptions - the whole nine. I'll be looking into all of this because I'm not sure what I can write-off and what I can't. Since I do a lot of TV spots, comics reviews, and so on, I may be able to wrangle part of my cable bill, my comics subscriptions, Internet bill - I'm not sure.
Anyway, since I'm going to have to find all of this out, I'll be sure to let you know what I find out. If anyone out there has been through this before, I'd love to hear more about it!
