Hollywood directors reached a deal with producers today that they called "substantial" and "groundbreaking."
The deal essentially doubles the rates on Internet downloads, as well as providing residuals for clips and streaming content.
But while this deal sets a precedent, the WGA previously stated that the directors do not represent them or actors. The WGA had not commented on the deal at the time of this post. WGA members have been striking for nearly two months now, effectively shutting down production on almost all scripted TV shows in the US.
