Conde Nast Pulls Plug on Gourmet

Since 1941, food afficionados ("foodies") have turned to Gourmet magazine. However, the November issue will be the last, and experts say the Internet is to blame. The publishers say the current economical climate is a strike against the magazine, which is aimed at "an upscale audience," but admit that TV cooking shows, as well as Internet blogs and websites, have taken its audience.

Several TV food personalities have magazines still being published. The wide range of information outlets and personalities are what people seek these days. Gourmet simply could not offer this.
