I have been driving myself crazy trying to fix this stupid sidebar! I have no idea why or even how it changed in the first place. I have gone through about 10 different "suggestions" pages and so forth and none have been of any help. Further, my limited knowledge of, and familiarity with, CSS has not helped me at all. But, in my defense, nothing I've tried has worked!
I seriously think I'm going to have to break down and basically rewrite the whole damned thing from scratch! I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I have tried everything! Even when I change the width of the sidebar and it's perfectly small enough to fit on the screen, it doesn't do it. I even moved the main content of the page all the way to the left and made the sidebar basically [ ] that big and it still won't come up!
A real pain in the ass. But I'll get it right someday. Just may not be today... sorry, guys!
